Berghem School is a F–6 school with approximately 250 students.

With proximity to Gammlia, Stadsliden's outdoor area, and Bräntberget, there are great opportunities for exciting outdoor activities. Here, qualified teachers with long experience work, and the leisure staff are also involved in schoolwork. Berghem School is one of Umeå Municipality's training schools, which means that during the school year, it hosts teacher students for their practical training, VFU.

Employment Information

The position is a part-time substitute, 60%, starting as soon as possible, by agreement until 2026-03-27.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with a class/classes of students who have particularly high needs for extended care and/or an adapted learning environment in close collaboration with the mentor, student health services, and leisure staff to plan and implement teaching that enables a good learning environment for the student/students.

About You

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma and experience working with children/students in need of extra care and/or special support. We prefer that you are a trained teaching assistant, childcare worker, or have a behavioral science/pedagogical education.

You are a secure adult and a good role model. You also have the ability to connect with the students. You see each individual and create a safe environment in the school and collaborate with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and structured. You enjoy working with children in need of special support as you are a very important part of their school day. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and find it easy to communicate and cooperate with students and other important professional groups for the target group.

To be able to develop the students' linguistic abilities, communicate with students, guardians, and colleagues, as well as document and engage with the school's governing documents, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language both in speech and writing.
